Definition: Indefeasibly

Post by White Wolf »

"Indefeasibly" (adverb) means in a way that cannot be undone, annulled, voided, or forfeited, describing something that is permanent, absolute, and secure, especially a legal right, claim, or title, meaning it's final and unchallengeable. It comes from the adjective "indefeasible," meaning not capable of being defeated or made void, like an indefeasibly vested remainder in property law, which is a secure, certain future interest.

Key meanings:
Not Annulled/Voided: Cannot be officially cancelled or declared non-existent.
Not Forfeitable: Cannot be taken away or lost.
Absolute/Secure: A final, permanent state, often in legal contexts like property or rights.

Examples in use:
"The registered owner's title was indefeasibly protected."
"The rule protects tenants' indefeasible right of personal security."
A future property interest that is "indefeasibly vested" means the taker is certain to receive it absolutely.
